Since 2010, in a building since long before
The Lodge
One building, more than a century of Kingsville business, and a simple idea: good food, cold drinks, and a room that feels like a cabin you never want to leave.
Early 1900s
A country store on the Baltimore road
The building starts life serving travelers on what becomes US Route 1, later spending years as a gas station as the road grows up around it.
Later decades
The tavern years
Locals know the address as Logan's Lounge, then Timber Creek Tavern, with a run as Hemingway's. The bar never really leaves the building.
2010
Gunpowder Lodge opens
New owners rework the old tavern into a lodge, with a menu built around Maryland crab and scratch cooking.
Today
The trailhead's kitchen
Live music on the weekends, brunch on Sundays, and a steady crowd of regulars, hikers, and families. The house motto says the rest: eat, drink, repeat.
